Dear Mrs. Moore,

Congratulations on your Primary Election victory on Tuesday.

With only 89 days until the General Election, it is time for us to have a serious discussion about the issues facing our Nation and district.

Our Nation is at a crossroads.  Our economy is still sputtering and unemployment hovers around 10% despite efforts by President Obama and Congressional Democrats to spend, tax and regulate our way out of the recession.  Our Nation deserves better and our district deserves an open and honest discussion about the differences between our two views of government.

As 3rd District voters consider the future of our country and Congress before they cast their vote in the November General Election, they have before them a distinct choice between two candidates with two different plans to solve the problems facing our Nation.

I believe, and I am certain that you will agree, that it is our responsibility to provide the citizens of this great state a forum to hear our different plans, positions and solutions.  To facilitate this open exchange of ideas, I invite you to engage in six (6) debates on issues pertinent to constituents throughout the district.

I have already agreed to participate in two (2) debates that have been brought to my campaign’s attention:  Kansas City, Kansas Chamber of Commerce debate in Wyandotte County and a debate in Douglas County at the University of Kansas.  Details for the proposed two debates will be released in the future.   In addition, organizations like the Chambers of Commerce in Johnson County, KCPT and Sun Publications have conducted debates in the past for the Republican and Democrat nominees for Congress.

I believe the people of the 3rd Congressional District have been deprived of the opportunity to hear from their member of Congress on the important issues facing our Nation today.  It is my desire to ensure that the voters of the 3rd District of Kansas hear from their next Representative in Congress.  Holding six (6) debates, district wide, is an important step in the right direction to bringing Congress back to the people of the District.

I look forward to your response to this invitation and the opportunity to engage in an open dialogue with you and the people of the 3rd District of Kansas.  My campaign staff will follow up with your team to discuss mutually acceptable locations, moderators and formats for each debate.

Sincerely,

Kevin Yoder
